Did you know that there’s a place just 2-3 hours from Manila where you can enjoy strawberry-picking? Feel the Baguio vibes at this newly opened strawberry farm in Alfonso, Cavite — Queens Strawberry Farm is the first of its kind near the Metro!
But unlike the farms in Benguet where crops grow on the ground, here at Queens Strawberry Farm, they are planted vertically. The strawberries are planted on soil-filled tubes hanging on frame structures, utilizing every space in the farm.
Our timing wasn’t perfect for strawberry-picking though, as there aren’t a lot of fruits to pick yet. But it’s great that they have a restaurant which is also something nice to try. It also looked cute and aesthetic.
Our experience at Queens Strawberry Farm
We arrived around merienda time, yet, we ordered full meals. We came from our Batangas trip where we had our early lunch so we’re already hungry by the time we reach Tagaytay.
So for our meals we tried Queens Smoked Pork Belly Platter, Carbonara, Caesar Salad, and Strawberry Milkshakes. Everything was served in heaping portions that we had a hard time finishing all despite the cravings!
The Queens Smoked Pork Belly Platter alone serves 4-5 persons. Aside from the pork belly itself, it also had lots of smoked hungarian sausage and sauteed vegetables along with it. It’s already a complete meal in itself! Also served with a special sauce that’s oozing with flavors. And the crispy skin, oh well, we all loved it!
For their Carbonara, it was good and creamy, but nothing special. I’m guessing it lacked some spices, though the creaminess was there. It’s nice that it was served with garlic breads and serving is good for 2 persons.
